Ålesund is the fishing capital of Norway and Norway is a mekka for fishing in europe. Ålesund is one of the few plases were there still is alot of cod. Every year in Februar there is the cod fishig premier in Ålesund witch atracts people from the intire globe.

Stryn Vandrerhjem and Ålesund vandrerhjem arrange fishing trips to the beautiful bird island Runde and boat trips in the synylv fjord outside of Hellesylt and also boat trips going out from Ålesund.

Cod fishing pemier in Ålesund

The annual fishing is from Februari intil Aplril Borgundfjorden is fjord witsh is sutuated right outside of the dock in Ålesund. It is famous for its good cod fishing, specially in the period from February until April.  Only in the year 2000 it was caught 410 tonns fish to a value of  av 5,5 millioner norwegian koronor in a few months. In 2007 Ålesund was honerd with the title the ” most beautiful city in Norway” in Norways largest news paper.   Ålesund Havfiskesenter offers boattrips from 4 up to 11 persons if you prefer fishing from a boat.
